Halloween Birthday Cards

Halloween birthday cards for a spooky celebration

Our Halloween birthday cards bring ghosts, vampires and a little dark humour to someone's special day. If their birthday falls in October, or they love spooky season whatever the month, these designs offer an alternative to the usual balloons and flowers. The current selection includes a friendly ghost, Dracula and a coffin character with a birthday pun. Each is a birthday greeting in its own right, rather than an ordinary Happy Halloween card. Choose the character and tone that suit the person opening it, then add a message that celebrates them.

A friendly ghost with an unexpected birthday wish

The Friendly Ghost birthday card features a little ghost against a purple background with the message, “Bet you didn't think a ghost would be wishing you Happy Birthday”. It is a playful choice for someone who likes the cute side of Halloween rather than full-on horror. The joke is about an unexpected visitor, not their age or appearance. It can suit a friend, relative or colleague who enjoys ghostly artwork. Think about their tastes rather than assuming everyone with an October birthday wants a spooky greeting.

Dracula joins the birthday celebrations

The Dracula design brings a vampire and fluttering bats to the occasion, with Halloween-inspired colours and a birthday greeting. It is an option for someone who enjoys vampire stories, gothic themes or a characterful card that looks different from a traditional birthday design. You do not need to organise a fancy-dress party for the card to fit. A quiet meal or a present handed over at home can still have a little spooky personality. Inspect the artwork on the product page before deciding whether its style feels right for them.

A coffin pun for someone who enjoys dark humour

The Dead Happy For You card features a skull and purple coffin with the line, “Is it your birthday? Trust me when I tell you I'm dead happy for you”. It is a deliberately daft joke for someone who enjoys puns and a darker Halloween theme. Choose it thoughtfully: references to death are not comfortable for everyone, particularly after a bereavement. If you are unsure how it will land, the friendly ghost offers a lighter alternative. A good birthday joke should make the recipient feel understood, not put them on the spot.

For Halloween birthdays and year-round spooky fans

A birthday on 31 October can share the day with pumpkins, sweets and seasonal celebrations, but the card should still recognise the person whose birthday it is. Write their name and a personal wish rather than letting Halloween take over the whole message. These designs can also work outside October for someone who enjoys spooky themes throughout the year. There is no need to pretend their birthday is a Halloween event. Let the artwork reflect an interest they love while your own words mark their special day.

What to write inside a spooky birthday card

Let the front supply the character or punchline, then make the message inside warm and personal. Mention a shared memory, a favourite interest or something you are looking forward to doing together. You can add a gentle spooky flourish if that sounds like you, but there is no need to fill every sentence with ghost and vampire jokes. If several people will sign, leave space for their wishes too.
