  • Write the answers with alternative spellings accepted - band names get mangled.
  • Lyric questions are kinder than intros if the crowd's age range is wide.
  • Never do an intros round through a phone speaker.

What are good music quiz questions?

A spread across decades: one round on bands and singers, one on songs and lyrics, one harder round on producers, labels and festivals. Avoid making a whole round from one genre.

How do you run a music intros round?

Play five to eight seconds of each track, twice, with a gap for writing. Test the speaker in the actual room first and have a written backup round in case the sound fails.

How many music questions should a quiz have?

Ten in a written round, or fifteen short clips in an intros round. Any more and the marking takes longer than the round itself.
