Nostalgia Gifts: Retro Prints, Badges and Milestone Cards
Nostalgia gifts
Nostalgia makes the easiest present in the world, because you already know what to buy. Pick the year, pick the thing they went on about, and the gift more or less writes itself. This page pulls together everything we make that suits a retro or reminiscence present, plus the buying advice for the bits we don't make.
To be straight about it: we don't sell retro toys or vinyl records. We draw and print cards, art prints, pin badges and stickers in the UK, and we stock real party decorations. Everything shown below is in stock now. For the toys, the sweets and the records, there is honest advice further down on where those actually come from.
Song lyric prints and retro wall art
A5, A4 and A3 art prints, drawn in house and printed in the UK. They post flat and frame easily, and a lyric from their year beats a generic gift every time.

Build the gift around one year
- Start with the year they were born, not the decade. The look back pages have the music, the news and the everyday detail for every year from 1920 to 2025.
- A song lyric print from the year they turned eighteen lands harder than one from the year they were born - eighteen is the year the music sticks. Shop this card
- The number one from the week they were born is the strongest single line you can put in a card. It takes two minutes to find.
- Pair one proper present with three cheap nostalgic bits. The cheap bits get the reaction; the print gets kept.
- If you are buying for someone in their seventies or eighties, keep the reference before 1975. Most retro merchandise stops at the 1980s.
What we make, and what we don't
- We make it: art prints and posters, including song lyric prints; enamel pin badges; stickers; greeting cards for every milestone; and we stock party banners, balloons, cake toppers and confetti.
- We don't make it: retro toys, vinyl records, sweets, tins or replica memorabilia. Nothing on this page pretends we do.
- For vinyl, a local record shop or a Discogs seller will beat anything mass-produced, and a record they actually owned is worth more than a reissue.
- For retro sweets, the specialist sweet shops sell by the decade. Our sweets that disappeared guide covers what was genuinely discontinued and what is still made.
- For toys, charity shops and eBay are where the real ones are. Our toys of the 80s and 90s guide is a decent checklist before you start.
Nostalgia gifts by milestone
- 40th - the 1980s and early 90s. Cartoons, first consoles, Saturday morning television.
- 50th - the 1970s and early 80s. Space hoppers, Chopper bikes, three channels and the test card.
- 60th - the 1960s and early 70s. The Beatles, the moon landing, Top of the Pops on a Thursday.
- 70th - the 1950s. Rationing ending, ITV starting, rock and roll arriving.
- 80th and over - the 1940s. Wartime childhood, the wireless, the NHS starting in 1948.
For reminiscence and care homes
- Prints work better than screens in a care setting: they stay up, they start conversations and nobody has to operate them.
- Print a look back page for the right year and read one section at a time. Stop wherever the conversation starts.
- Pin badges and stickers are easy to hand round and cost very little per person.
- Keep anything you give washable, unbreakable and free of small parts if it is going into a shared lounge.
- The care home reminiscence quiz is free to read and free to copy for a session.

Frequently asked questions
Do you sell retro toys or vinyl records?
No. We make greeting cards, art prints, pin badges and stickers in the UK, and we stock party decorations. For toys and records, charity shops, eBay and independent record shops are the honest answer, and a real one from their childhood beats a reissue.
What is a good nostalgia gift for a 50th birthday?
Something tied to one year rather than the whole decade: a song lyric print, a card that names the year, and one or two cheap retro bits in a hamper. Our look back page for their birth year has the music, news and everyday detail to build it around.
What can you give someone in a care home?
Prints for the wall, pin badges, cards and printed reminiscence material all work well. Avoid anything breakable, anything with small parts and anything that needs setting up or charging.
How quickly do you post?
Cards, prints and badges are printed and packed in the UK. Order on a working day and it usually goes out the same day, first class.
Can I theme a party from this page?
Yes - the banners, balloons, cake toppers and confetti here are plain enough to take any decade theme, and the playlist and food do the rest. The retro party supplies page sets out how to put the whole thing together.
