Air fryers are one of the most popular Black Friday buys in the UK — and make a great Christmas gift for a busy household or someone moving into their first home. Here's how to pick the right one.

Some of the things we suggest here are sold by other shops, not by us. Where we link to them, we say so.

What size do you need?

Finding the right capacity suits everyone from solo renters to busy parents preparing quick weeknight dinners. When browsing the seasonal sales, it helps to match the machine to your typical meal sizes rather than simply buying the largest model on offer. Our best tip is to measure your countertop height beforehand so you can ensure you have plenty of clearance.

1–2 people: a compact single drawer.
Families: a large single drawer or a dual drawer.
Check it fits under your kitchen cupboards.

Single or dual drawer?

This choice suits home cooks who love serving complete, multi-part meals without cold sides. You will want to decide on this before the rush of the Black Friday sales begins so you can filter your online searches quickly. As a helpful tip, think about your favourite meals and whether they require cooking different ingredients at different temperatures.

Dual drawers cook two foods at once and can finish them together.
Single drawers are cheaper and take less space.

Features worth having

High-tech settings suit busy individuals who want to press a button and walk away while preparing mid-week meals. Use this checklist when comparing top deals online to avoid paying extra for complicated functions you might never actually use. We recommend reading online customer reviews to see how these everyday functions perform in real kitchens before making your final purchase.
