Key things to remember

Wrap a small related item (a toy penguin for a penguin encounter) so there's something to open.
Choose a voucher with a long validity period and flexible dates, so they can book when it suits them.
Check the small print for age, height, weight or health restrictions before you buy.
Weather-dependent experiences (balloons, flying, outdoor driving) often get rescheduled, so allow flexibility.
Hand the voucher over inside a card with a personal note; it turns a printout into a proper present.
