October 7, 2026

Flying experiences let someone take the controls, often for the first time, with an instructor beside them.

Here's what's on offer and who each suits.

Types of flying experience

Trial flying lesson in a light aircraft.
Helicopter lesson.
Gliding.
Airliner or fighter jet simulator.
Aerobatic flight.
Microlight flight.

Who it suits

Aviation fans.
Anyone who's dreamed of being a pilot.
Milestone birthdays.
Retirement gifts.

Key things to remember

Simulators aren't weather-dependent, so they're easier to book.
Choose a voucher with a long validity period and flexible dates, so they can book when it suits them.
Check the small print for age, height, weight or health restrictions before you buy.
Weather-dependent experiences (balloons, flying, outdoor driving) often get rescheduled, so allow flexibility.
Hand the voucher over inside a card with a personal note; it turns a printout into a proper present.
