Ordination Card Messages

Ordination card messages: what to write

Ordination is one of the hardest days to buy a card for, and even harder to write in. These ordination card messages are grouped by tone so you can find something warm, something scriptural, or something short enough to sit under a group signature from the parish.

The lines that land name the years behind the day — the study, the discernment, the waiting. Start with one of these and add a detail only you would know.

Frequently asked questions

What do you write in an ordination card?

Congratulate them, name the years of study and discernment behind the day, and add a blessing or short scripture verse. One honest line beats a long verse.

Do you sell ordination cards?

Yes — our congratulations on your ordination cards are designed and printed in the UK, blank inside, and posted first class with a kraft envelope.

Is it appropriate to send a card for an ordination?

Very much so. Ordinations are rarely marked with cards, so one that arrives is usually kept.
