The reveal
- Keep it short. A shout, a cheer, then music straight away - silence after the surprise is deadly.
- Someone films it. Not everyone. One phone, planned in advance.
- Have a drink ready to put in their hand within ten seconds.
- Consider a gentle reveal for someone who'd hate a jump-out: a room of people already chatting, looking up.
- Warn anyone with health issues or anxiety in advance. A surprise isn't worth a bad moment.
- Let them do a lap and speak to everyone before anything else happens.
