Valentine's Day 2027: Date, Gift Ideas and What to Write (UK)

October 7, 2026

Valentine's Day 2027 is on Sunday 14 February. Falling on a weekend means restaurants book up early and a lot of couples make a whole day of it rather than squeezing in a weeknight dinner.

This guide covers the date, gift ideas for him and her, things to do, and what to write in the card - plus when to order so nothing turns up late.

Key dates for Valentine's 2027

Valentine's Day: Sunday 14 February 2027.
Last sensible first class posting day: Thursday 11 February.
Book restaurants for the Saturday or Sunday by mid-January - weekend Valentine's sells out.
Galentine's Day is the day before: Saturday 13 February.

Gift ideas for her

A star map of the night you met.
A personalised photo book of your year together.
A spa day or afternoon tea for two.
Good chocolates and a handwritten letter.

Breakfast in bed, then a film you both loved years ago.
A cooking class or a night in with a recipe you've never tried.

What to write in a Valentine's card

Still my favourite person to do nothing with.
Every year with you is the best one yet. Happy Valentine's.
I'd swipe right again. Every time.
Thank you for putting up with me. I love you.

Key things to remember

Book restaurants early - it's a weekend.
There's no Sunday post, so send cards by the Thursday.
Write the card yourself, even if it's short.
