Stag Do Gift Ideas for the Groom and the Group

We make cards, pin badges, prints and party bits in the UK. We don't sell inflatable anything, so this is a plain guide with our own bits only where they genuinely fit.

Stag gifts fall into two piles: what the group clubs together for, and the small stuff the best man hands out on day one.

The good version is short on novelty and long on things people still own a year later.

For the groom

• A joint gift from the group: a decent bottle, a watch strap, a good wallet, or the deposit on something he'd never buy himself.
• Something for the wedding morning - cufflinks, a hip flask, socks that aren't a joke.
• A memory book the group fills in over the weekend and hands over at the last dinner.
• A keepsake pin badge or print he'll keep on the shelf rather than in a drawer.

For the group

• Personalised pin badges instead of matching shirts - cheaper, and people actually keep them.
• A small kit bag on arrival: painkillers, plasters, mints, water tablets and the running order.
• Printed game sheets and pens, which cost pence and replace buying a kit.
• A cap or tee only if it gets worn again. If it doesn't, skip it.

Under £10 each

• One good miniature rather than three novelty ones.
• A decent pair of socks for the wedding morning photos.
• A printed group photo from the first night, framed cheaply and handed over at the end.
• A card from the groom to each of them, thanking them for coming and for the cost.

What to skip

• Anything inflatable, anything that embarrasses him in front of strangers.
• Gifts that have to be carried all weekend or flown home.
• Matching outfits nobody chose, bought in a size guess.
• Expensive joint gifts agreed without asking what everyone can afford.
